Your one-to-one Welsh lessons are structured to ensure focused and effective learning, adapting to your personal pace and objectives. Each session balances conversation practice and dedicated grammar focus to improve both fluency and accuracy. All tuition includes access to your personal e-learning platform, providing valuable homework resources and materials for independent study, which allows you to consistently build and reinforce your skills outside of our scheduled lessons.
For those who prefer a flexible and spontaneous approach, I offer Informal Welsh sessions. These are a straightforward "log in and learn" experience, perfect for maintaining fluency or tackling specific, in-the-moment questions. There is no set curriculum; instead, we build the lesson around your own material, whether that’s a tricky work email, a recent article you want to discuss, or a specific conversation topic you encountered. It's an ideal, low-pressure format for conversation practice and targeted support whenever you need it.
Sesiynau bywiog sydd wedi'u cynllunio'n benodol ar gyfer dysgwyr sydd eisoes yn gallu cyfathrebu ond sydd angen cyfle ychwanegol i ddefnyddio'r Gymraeg. Mae'r sesiynau unigol yn canolbwyntio'n llwyr ar drafodaethau ac ymarfer llafar mewn awyrgylch hamddenol a chefnogol, gyda fi fel eich tiwtor personol. Mae'r sesiynau hwn yn berffaith ar gyfer cynnal a gwella eich rhuglder, ehangu eich geirfa, a meithrin y hyder sydd ei angen arnoch i siarad y Gymraeg yn naturiol ac yn ddiymdrech mewn unrhyw sefyllfa.
I offer dynamic 1:1 Speaking Practice Sessions specifically designed for learners who are already able to communicate but need an extra opportunity to use the Welsh language. Our individual sessions focus entirely on interactive discussions and verbal practice in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere, with me as your personal tutor. They are perfect for maintaining and improving your fluency, expanding your vocabulary, and building the confidence you need to speak Welsh naturally and effortlessly in any situation.
My teaching is rooted in the Communicative Approach (CA), which prioritises real-world interaction, genuine discussion, and using authentic texts. I focus on developing communicative competence (being understood) and sociolinguistic competence (using language appropriately for context), and I actively avoid fluency-stagnating drills. However, I differ from many CA teachers by believing that grammar and pronunciation require direct, explicit attention. My instruction adheres to the Noticing Hypothesis: I strategically guide your attention to gaps in knowledge or persistent errors. For pronunciation, I use phonetically-informed prompts to target issues affecting intelligibility. For grammar, I provide evaluative feedback notes after the session, targeting specific errors that impede meaning.
